Mechanical Design Engineers

Job Type Full-time

Location Fort Wayne, IN

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; 9 months experience (pre- or post-degree) in: similar mechanical design projects applying knowledge of federal, state and local building codes and safety laws; understanding of construction methods and the application to design, and principles of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer; demonstrating strong communication and problem-solving skills to communicate technical data to colleagues and clients; and with computer aided drafting systems (AutoCad), Microsoft Office products, and Autodesk Revit.  Coursework or experience with ANSYS Workbench, Siemens NX, MATLAB, Solidworks.

  • Mechanical Design Engineer openings in architecture/engineering office.  Responsibilities include analysis, design and specification of building heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems and plumbing systems under specficiations of senior engineers.  Apply principles of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.  Engineer reviews existing conditions or proposed project before the start of work, determines the best course of design based upon all the required information for senior team to finalize the design, with responsibility for the accuracy of the calculations required.  Writes the project specifications and finalizes the drafting work for the project to be put out to bid.  Follows project in field and addresses issues needed to complete construction.  Reviews completion paperwork and all testing reports to ensure compliance with project intent.  Collaborate with design team members as needed.  Give instructions to interns.  Occasional incidental domestic travel required to project sites and client meetings (less than 10%).

Architectural Technician

Job Type Full-time

Qualifications

  • Associates degree/Certificate in drafting & design technology or greater
  • 2+ years of Architectural documentation (preferred)

Capabilities & Credentials

  • Proficiency in Autodesk, AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Engage with staff and some consultant contact
  • Good positive interaction with colleagues and clients is very important
  • Must be able to pass a 7-year criminal history including misdemeanors and felonies

Duties Include

  • Draft in Autodesk Revit
  • Create base documents from existing blueprints
  • Create working drawings and construction documents from preliminary hand or computer sketches
  • Communicate well and work closely with multiple project managers to perform drafting of accurate drawing packages
  • Correct marked up drawings
  • Review shop drawings and submittals and respond to RFIs (if requested)
  • Prepare site observation reports
  • Attend client meetings

Mechanical Engineering Internship

This is a paid internship opportunity

Job Type Part-time

Qualifications

  • Current Student in pursuit of or Graduating Student of Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent field of study

Capabilities & Credentials

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • CAD system and Autodesk Revit experience is a plus
  • Position requires collaboration with the Engineering and Architectural groups
  • Position will likely include travel to project sites and meetings
  • Candidate should have strong desire to learn and grow
  • Must be able to pass a 7-year criminal history including misdemeanors and felonies
  • Lack of experience will not disqualify candidates
