K-12 Focus

Since 1969, Barton Coe Vilamaa has specialized in K-12 educational facilities and systems, with an emphasis on public school districts of all sizes. Our focus means we have a detailed, comprehensive understanding of learning environments, and our process is built around uncovering their needs and designing for function.

BCV also specializes in private school systems, municipal buildings, and other publicly owned facilities.

Industry-Specific Innovation and Function

Best practices in learning environments are always evolving. As members of IAPSS, IASBO, ISBA, and ISRSA, our team is at the forefront of these conversations, actively incorporating the most innovative, functional designs into educational spaces.

Publicly Funded Project Expertise

We understand the complexities of publicly funded projects, from tax credit bonds to public input. We know every project requires immense planning, regardless of the size of the project. Because these buildings aren’t just buildings—they’re centers for community growth and gathering—and they have to last for generations.

Partners in Process

Simply put, our team is a true partner to school districts, planning not only for the project at hand, but for long-term maintenance and budgeting needs.

“Barton Coe Vilamaa is highly knowledgeable of educational needs. They’re extremely competent, very responsive, incredibly organized, and simply enjoyable to work with.”

— Dr. Phillip G. Downs, Superintendent, Southwest Allen County Schools (Retired)

All-In

We’ve worked with clients and projects of all sizes across Central and Northern Indiana—from entire school districts to individual schools. We’re grateful for their trust and lasting partnerships.
