Aspen Meadow Elementary is the newest of three elementary schools BCV has designed for Northwest Allen County Schools, following earlier projects in 2004 and 2007. Each school shares a common prototype plan, but every version has been thoughtfully adapted to reflect the district’s evolving needs and the unique identity of its students and staff. At 114,497 square feet, Aspen Meadow provides a modern, flexible home for the district’s growing K–5 population.

The original prototype was born out of collaboration. Working with NACS’s design committee, our team created a to-scale kit of parts that allowed members to experiment with layouts and features in small groups. Their best ideas were refined and synthesized into the final plan, which has since become the basis for each new school. Aspen Meadow builds on that foundation with updates for current codes, energy efficiency, and the addition of specialized instructional spaces.

The result is a building that feels both familiar and fresh—a proven design, continually renewed, that gives students high-quality learning environments while strengthening the sense of identity across the district’s elementary schools.
