East Noble Academy was designed as a purpose-built facility to support the district’s alternative education program. The 9,075-square-foot building includes two classrooms—one serving middle school students and one serving high school students—along with two small group rooms, a kitchenette, and a large common area that can accommodate the entire student body for gatherings and presentations. Administrative offices, conference space, a secure reception area, and additional student and staff support spaces are also integrated into the layout.
Previously, the academy was housed in a former office building that was not designed for educational use. The layout created supervision challenges and limited the ability of staff to support the program’s instructional goals. Site constraints at the former location also prevented students from having access to outdoor activity space.
The new facility resolves these challenges with a centralized commons that provides clear visibility into all student areas, eliminating supervision concerns while fostering connection and flexibility. Purpose-built classrooms, small group spaces, and kitchen facilities support a range of learning styles, while the new site allows for outdoor dining and activity areas. Together, these improvements create a supportive, functional environment that aligns with the academy’s mission and enhances the daily experience for students and staff.
