The new Huntington Police Department building brings a strong civic presence to downtown while delivering a highly functional, modern facility for officers and staff. The station includes dedicated spaces for detectives and patrol officers, evidence processing and storage, public interview rooms, and secure interrogation areas. Staff amenities—such as an officer fitness room, a flexible training room also available for community programming, and a suite of offices for department leadership—support both daily operations and long-term departmental needs.

Security and durability were critical design priorities. Officers emphasized the need for efficient circulation between public and restricted areas, which shaped the building’s internal layout. One-way windows were introduced to provide outward visibility for staff while maintaining privacy and eliminating views into secure spaces.
