Northridge High School’s new athletic center is a massive 83,000-square-foot facility designed to house large-scale assemblies, competitions, and basketball games. The fieldhouse-style addition features an auxiliary gymnasium, an elevated walking track, and dedicated locker rooms for both players and cheerleaders. With integrated concessions and a seating capacity for 4,042 spectators, the venue provides the necessary infrastructure to host major events and support a variety of student programs.

The project addressed a significant long-term challenge for Northridge, as the high school previously lacked a dedicated competition gymnasium. This deficit forced student-athletes and fans to travel off-site for home games and limited the school’s ability to host events. The district required a versatile, multi-purpose venue that could maximize crowd participation and adapt to different activities, regardless of the size of the attendance.

The new facility delivered on these goals immediately, hosting both high-profile athletic tournaments and robotics competitions within its first month of operation. Since its opening, the athletic center has become a landmark for the district, welcoming community members and visitors from multiple states. The project has received widespread praise for its scale and functionality, providing a premier environment for student achievement and community engagement.
