Intern to PE: Lucas Braga Earns His Professional Engineer License

We’re thrilled to share some incredibly exciting news and celebrate a major professional achievement: Lucas Braga has officially earned his Professional Engineer (PE) license!

Lucas has been a pillar of our mechanical department since June 2019. Watching Lucas grow over the last seven years from an intern to a designer, and now to a licensed Professional Engineer, has been an incredible journey for the whole BCV family.

Earning a PE license is the “marathon” of the engineering world—requiring years of experience, rigorous study, and a commitment to public safety. For Lucas, reaching this milestone at the same firm where he started his career makes it even more significant.

Looking back, it feels incredibly rewarding to reach this seven-year milestone with the same core team,” Lucas shared. “I’ve moved step-by-step at BCV, from intern to designer and now to a licensed PE. The trust and support I’ve been given throughout the years have made me even more dedicated to the work we do here.

While the day-to-day work of mechanical engineering involves complex calculations and intricate system designs, Lucas finds his motivation in the tangible results. Seeing a design go from a concept on a screen to a functional, real-world solution is what keeps him looking forward to the next project. As he steps into this new role, he is eager to take on higher-level decisions and help BCV incorporate more sustainable engineering solutions as technologies advance.

Having a licensed PE who has “grown up” within our company culture is a win for both BCV and our clients. It means the projects we deliver are backed by years of institutional knowledge and a deep-seated commitment to excellence. We couldn’t be prouder of Lucas’s hard work and his dedication to his craft.
